Home Inventory Manager is a freeware application for tracking home inventory. The software was programmed with a basic and intuitive GUI. This way most of all the information is shown on the primary screen making it easy to see and alter your inventory information. Home Inventory Manager enables the user to customize the program for their homes specific needs. These custom features include the ability to generate custom reports and printouts as well as an option to alter the field titles. Home Inventory Manager supports several data fields. These fields are places where you can enter in information for each item in your house. For example, the default fields include location, warranty, date purchased, value, category, heir, buy date, and more. There are 17 fields total and they all can be altered to fit your inventory needs. What this means is that if you would like to change the name of the field brand to maker, you can adjust the program to do this for you. After you make the change, it is immediately made throughout the application including the reports and the windows. Besides the data fields you can enter for each inventory item, you can also enter a description, history, and image. The description and history sections are where you can type in long text entries like previous ownership, various details, special markings, or just about whatever you would like. The image is generally meant for a picture of the item, but could be used for whatever picture you want. The primary window displays a thumbnail of the photo when the item is currently selected. Additional Home Inventory Manager features include copy, find, delete, sorted reports, export to .csv files, and help.
