Bakugan Battle Brawlers (created by Sega Toys and Spinmaster) has already been dubbed the Top Toy of 2008 by Time magazine, Toy Wishes Magazine and Newsday and is flying off shelves across the country. Bakugan Battle Brawlers is the perfect combination of collectability, skill and strategy with action and competitive play.The game is based on the popular anime television show of the same name that aired on American television in 2007. The plot is that of many other monster battle shows, bringing the twist with the transformation of the monsters from marbles to combat ready creatures.Bakugan Battle Brawlers is played with both figures (the Bakugan) and metal cards that trigger a magnetic spring switch in the Bakugan. Once the marble is rolled onto the card the switch is activated and the marble transforms into the dueling creature hidden inside. The game play is a combination of marbles and a Pokemon style of battle.If a marble knocks another out of bounds it is the winner. If, however, both monsters have a chance to transform then battle commences with strength points found on the cards and enhanced with secondary, special cards.
Aside from the addictive strategy and fighting style the biggest appeal to Bakugan Battle Brawlers is the fact that there are so many of these currently on the market.Bakugan can be bought separately in a wide variety of creatures from dragons to robots. Because of this there is sure to be a favorite figure for every player.
